#Todo macross voxp ps2
Really, I'd love to see a fantastic Macross flight sim made, but if you have a modded PS1 or PS2, Macross VF-X2 is a much better game, if much more arcade style, and I've heard good things about the Macross PS2 game. That's like playing a Star Trek game where they say your ship is the Excelsior, but the in-game model is the Enterprise. Also, your own ship is supposed to be a Megaroad class ship, but the model is that of the original Macross. There's only about three different kinds of areas (deep space, rings of Saturn, close to Jupiter, if I recall), you only get the VF-1, and if I remember right the Zentradi only throw battlepods, space fighters, and two kinds of ships. If someone does ever get around to making a great Macross flight sim, I hope they do keep that in mind.īut aside from that, the graphics were sub-par even for the time. I'd only reccomend it to fellow Macross fans who are starved for a game that puts them in the cockpit of a Valkyrie.Īctually, it does do some fantastic things with inertia.

Unfortunately, it's really not that great.

There seems to be very little differences between Valkyrie, Gerwalk, and Battroid modes, though I presume you can't fire missiles while on Battroid mode like in the series, at least the one without the fastpacks equipped.Īnyway, given a choice between DYRL for the PS2 and this game, I'd easily go for the former.I wish I could say something nice about the game. I haven't fully worked on the locking system, so I can't really tell if I'm doing anything wrong or anything. Your Valkyrie can turn on a dime on the spot and the controls feel a little too responsive that one is already making a 180 degree turn before anyone notices. There is a glitch where the BGM won't play at all, so fire up your MP3 players while playing to get the feel for the game.įighter mode feels like a frantic version of Ace Combat's.

But still, the game has online multiplayer and mod skins, though the game really feels lacking in some areas.

Not as polished as Macross: DYRL for the PS2 which is IMO a superior game in many respects. The game feels more like a doujin game rather than a full-fledged product.
